Drug Rehab Center
People from all walks of life can become addicted to drugs. Many suffer from health, occupational, or social problems that have
caused them to start using drugs and alcohol in the first place. Successful drug rehab centers return the addict to their former capacity so
that they are then able to return to society rehabilitated, as a drug free, productive individual.
Nearly all addicted individuals believe in the beginning that they can stop using drugs on their own, and
most try to stop without an effective drug rehab treatment center. Most addicted individuals will start using drugs as a solution to some type of
problem that they do not have an answer to. As they continue to use drugs, the individual then falls into the trap of addiction and are unable to
stop using because they encounter three main barriers to successful recovery. These are (1) mental and physical cravings, (2) guilt and (3)
depression. In order to fully handle the addiction the person must find a drug rehab center that will fully handle these barriers.
There are many types of drug and alcohol rehab centers. Some drug rehab centers use behavioral therapy (such
as counseling, cognitive therapy, or psychotherapy), medications, or their combination following the disease concept which is one school of
thought regarding addiction. This disease concept is only a concept and has yet to be proven by any scientific means. There are also as
non-traditional methods of drug rehab which include bio-physical approaches which are often safer (because of their drug free methods) and more
effective because the directly handle all components of the addiction problem.
Outpatient Drug Rehab Programs
Outpatient treatment is designed to provide long-term assistance to people fighting drug addiction. This
form of addiction treatment implements while keeping the person in their current environment. These include programs like pproblem-solving
groups, specialized therapies such as insight-oriented psychotherapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy, and 12-step programs. Althought they
still live at home, they travel to the treatment center on a regular basis. Some outpatient drug treatment programs may offer
little more than counseling and drug education. Other outpatient drug rehab models, such as intensive day treatment, can be comparable to
residential treatment programs in services and effectiveness, depending on the conditions of the and circumstances of the addict.
Residential Drug Rehab Centers
Residential drug rehab centers provide around-the-clock treatment services in an facility away from the
addicts normal environment. Patients, adults or adolescents, usually stay in these programs several months or up to a year or more. Some of
these programs are referred to as therapeutic communities, drug rehab or drug and alcohol rehabilitation centers.
The success rate of most programs is quite variable at best. The Narconon® Arrowhead drug rehab center achieves a 70% success rate of graduates by tackling both the mental and
physical aspects of addiction with a totally drug free approach, as well as removing all three barriers to successful recovery.
